Welcome to Poverty Bay Sail & Power Squadron

Message

We are a squadron of the United State Power Squadrons®, a national, non-profit, boating educational organization dedicated to making boaters more knowledgeable and boating more enjoyable. Our squadron is comprised of friendly and knowledgeable people with big boats, little boats, no boats and even some with RVs!

Our Squadron has a three-part mission:
  1. Fellowship
  2. Boating Education
  3. Civic Service

We serve the boating communities of South King County and North Pierce County, an area that includes South Seattle to North Tacoma and from Puget Sound to the slopes of the Cascades. We offer boating classes and free Vessel Safety Checks that ensure your vessel meets USCG, State, and local safety requirements. We promote fun with recreational boating and other water related activities.

We offer classes that will prepare you to fulfill the Washington State Boaters Education requirement with our America’s Boating Course and help you earn your Washington State Boaters Education Card.

Our members and families are avid boaters and I encourage you to learn more about us and to take our boating class. We actively seek new members that want to enjoy fun and safe boating. We meet socially ten times a year for dinner meetings where we share comradeship and discuss squadron business. We also participate in many boating events throughout the Puget Sound region each year.

For the curious, Poverty Bay is located at 47° 21.0' N latitude and 122° 20.0' W longitude, on Puget Sound between Des Moines & Redondo, Washington. We love to learn and practice safe boating and to have fun. If you are interested in coming along for the journey, please contact us by email at boating@pbps.org.

We would love to say, "Welcome Aboard!"

Craig Brown, SN-IN
